5day Forecast Graphic for 10/8/12A dreary day after a rainy weekend describes how this Monday has been—and with more rain expected this evening and overnight, it’s not over yet!  Besides the rain, it has also been a chilly weekend, with the high temperatures only reaching into the mid-50s at National Airport.  The drop of temperatures was drastic this weekend, with a high of 80° on Saturday, down to only 56° on Sunday!  Are these chilly, dreary days here to stay, or is another warm up on the way?  Read on to find out!

Showers will persist into tonight and into the overnight hours, although they will stay mainly north of I-95.  They could stick around for parts of the area until tomorrow morning—including rush hour.  Things will clear up a bit going into the afternoon hours, with the sun making an appearance.

Wednesday should bring more sun, and warmer temperatures, with highs shooting up to around 70°!  Isolated showers are possible in the afternoon thanks to a weak frontal passage to our north.

Things will clear up again Thursday, with mostly sunny skies, although expect the temperature to take a slight dip behind the front.  Highs should still make it to the mid-60s.  Another weak front will end the work week on Friday, leading to the possibility of some isolated showers throughout the area.
