It was beautiful out today with a little chilly breeze in the air, leading to cool in the shade and warmth in the sun. Still, highs reach into the upper-60s today. But change is in the air for tomorrow. Read on to find out more!
A cold front is approaching the area from the west, causing severe weather just east of the Mississippi River this evening. These storms will make their way through the midwest tonight and tomorrow, before reaching the DC area later in the afternoon Thursday. These storms are expected to remain strong, and the NWS Storm Prediction Center has placed us under a slight chance for severe weather tomorrow. Southerly winds will warm temperatures up into the lower-70s Thursday and Friday.
The rain is expected to continue overnight and into the commute Friday morning before dwindling off by the afternoon. Temperatures will start to fall Friday night behind the front into the mid-60s as winds shift more Northwest.
The sun will remain out throughout the weekend and into the beginning of next week and temperatures slowly rise back into the mid-70s.
