A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued until 9:00pm for the entire DC Metro Area.

This is a large threat area, and the main impact will be damaging winds in excess of 70mph.

Start making preparations now so you are prepared if severe weather reaches your area. Numerous Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have already been issued around DC today.

Keep an eye on the weather, and listen to NOAA Weather Radio and local media for updates, as conditions can and will change rapidly.

Tornado Watch Issued Until 10p

EDIT (7:45pm): At this time the Tornado Watch has been cancelled for the entire DC Metro Area. Isolated showers and storms are still possible thru this evening.

A Tornado Watch has been issued until 10:00pm for most of Maryland, DC, and Fairfax, Loudoun, and Arlington in Virginia.

This is a large threat area, and impacts could include numerous tornadoes, strong winds in excess of 70mph, and large hail.

Start making preparations now so you are prepared if severe weather reaches your area. Severe Thunderstorms have already been moving through parts of Western Maryland and West Virginia.

Keep an eye on the weather, and listen to NOAA Weather Radio and local media for updates, as conditions can and will change rapidly.

5day Forecast for 6/26/13

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for most of the DC Metro Area until 10pm tonight.  Several isolated cells of severe thunderstorms have already formed over Virginia, so make sure to keep an eye on the weather and your NOAA weather radios on throughout the day.  These storms will have the potential to produce damaging winds in excess of 60mph, and large hail.
